End Of A Chapter

The day is finally here for me to pull down the shutter to my cafe for the very last time. Managed to get rid of most of the equipment and furniture, making the place looked quite bare. Still couldn't believe that my business venture has come to end so soon, lasting only for 12 months. Not a very long time but long enough for me to know my 'neighbours' and to become good friends with some of the regulars. More importantly it has provided me with the opportunities to re-establish my rapport with some of my ex-students. In fact, different batches of my kids have been visiting me since Monday to have a final look at the place that they have sort of grown attached to (ok maybe for some of them it's not the place or me but it's my Snow Ice that attracts them.) Anyway, we are all animals of emotions and whenever it comes to ending a relationship whether with another person or a place it's never easy and it's something that nobody wants to go through. It saddened me to see the place vacant and not knowing where or when my next setup will be (if I ever start another one that is.) Nevertheless, I would like to take the chance here to thank all those who have been supporting me for the past year, especially those who have been coming on a regular basis. Special thanks to Alicia and Joey for coming down today to witness the closure with me. Felt bad that I wasn't able to serve them any Snow Ice as the ice grating machine has already been removed. Luckily, a friend who was also present treated the 3 of us to Tim Sum at a neighbouring stall. Was told by the owner whose name is also Victor, that he is looking for an assistant to help him out at his new branch nearby. Told me to consider his offer if I am still staying in the food industry. Sounded good as I have always enjoyed Tim Sum and if I can acquire the skill to make them then I could eat Tim Sum for the rest of my life. That is an option that I might consider on top of the other choices that I have. Anyway, the chapter on the Snow Ice affair has come to an end and I would probably take a short break to consider the various options and to plan for the next chapter.
